The BBC's LGBT Sport Podcast shines a weekly spotlight on the stories of groups and individuals from the world of sport who are either LGBTQ+ or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Established in 2018, the podcast features in-depth interviews with leading figures from the world of sport, including Nicola Adams; Claire Balding; Nigel Owens and more than 200 other guests from right around the world. The conversations are powerful and wide-ranging, and are as likely to focus on a guest's coming out story as they are on their proudest sporting moment. We aim to challenge the narrative that LGBTQ+ people aren't able to succeed in sport - because our guests are doing just that! The podcast has been called 'the most essential work being done by an LGBT journalist in the UK today' - and uses long-form conversations to show that sport is for everyone, regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.
